El Gran Fogon is a beloved gem nestled in the heart of Tlalpan, Ciudad de Mexico. Renowned for its exceptional cuts of meat, diners rave about the tender flank and chorizo steaks, often complemented by a refreshing michelada or a flavored clericot. The restaurant's friendly staff elevates the experience, with many customers noting their dedication to personalized service, recalling patrons' preferences. While the ambiance is generally enjoyable, some guests have mentioned that the weekend music can be a touch loud, potentially hindering conversation. However, the flavors and variety of dishes, like the northern molcajete and flavorful mushroom soup, consistently impress. The barbecue options are a highlight for those dining in groups, making for a perfect sharing experience. Despite occasional delays in service, the overall consensus speaks to the good food and lively atmosphere. In summary, El Gran Fogon promises not just a meal, but a vibrant culinary journey through traditional Mexican cuisine, making it a must-visit for taco lovers and meat enthusiasts alike.

For many years my favorite place to eat a good cut of meat, with a delicious meat juice and a delicious meat empanada to start... Of my favorite cuts we can start with the flank steak, although my favorite is the chorizo steak (but they are all very good) and to relax you can always have a delicious michelada or a jug of delicious clericot. If you want something to share, the barbecue is very good. Although the best thing about the place is undoubtedly the excellent treatment of the staff.

The place is very nice, but the music on weekends is really loud, making it almost impossible to converse. The food is good, but it took about 50 minutes to arrive, and there were a couple of items they didn't have.

If you love Mexican meat and other typical national dishes, as well as being catered, this place never disappoints. They actually remember you and your preferences. Amazing!

Good atmosphere. On weekends a guy goes to sing various music. The northern molcajete can be for 3 people without a problem, 2 if they have good taste. Very good mushroom soup, made to order. The dry noodles are very rich but they are spicy. The waiters are very friendly.

I visited this place from Chicago with 10 family members and honestly I don’t want any more meat for a month. This place doesn’t skimp on the portions. We ordered 3 different parrillas and it was all worth it. Food and alcohol was less than 230 dollars. Please note that only half of us were drinking, from cocktails to beer and shots. They have a singer on site and for the Latino people, he does a pretty good job at imitating Juan Gabriel. We had a blast and would return in a heartbeat. Gracias Gran Fogon!!!

An excellent place to eat meat cuts south of Mexico City with a nice family atmosphere, the reception is fast and there are no long waiting times.

The molcajetes are excellent, they serve three people and are incredibly tasty. We tried the skirt steak. If you're after dessert, the chocolate volcano, the baked flan, and the flame-baked crepes are highly recommended. There's live music and the atmosphere is great. Excellent service
